I recently had the opportunity to visit Santikos Casa Blanca. I have to say, Mr. Santikos would be proud. This theater is unlike any other. As you pull up to the parking lot you can immediately tell this theater was built to cater to its customers. The walkways lead you to the entrance without having to walk through the parking lot when you have little ones. (This was a big plus for me and my Buentello Bunch).
As you walk into the theater you can skip the box office by using the self-service automated ticketing kiosk that allows you to purchase your movie tickets with a debit/credit card. If you’re not too familiar with ticketing kiosks there are several attendants who are ready to assist you.
Casa Blanca has plenty to offer besides movies and the usual concession stand for snacks. They also have a Café/Restaurant with a dinning area where you can grab a bite to eat. You can eat there or take the food with you to enjoy during the movie. From Birthday Parties to Corporate Events, Santikos – Casa Blanca has a great selection of food, beverage and dessert items to choose from so that you can ensure you spend plenty of time with your guest but most importantly have a fun!!
The Expanded Concession stand offers your favorite snack items such as popcorn, nachos, candy but my favorite is FUNNEL CAKE!! They also offer pizza, chicken fingers, hot dogs and so much more. The bonus is the Coca-Cola soda stations that are located in the center of the theater so you can grab your drink and refill it on your own. My kids are totally going to love this as you can create your own drinks and you have over 100 to choose from.
There is a 16 lane bowling alley with plenty of seating that is located next to the Arcade and the bar. You can hangout with your friends after a movie or instead of a movie. Prices vary daily but there is one flat fee per hour instead of per game.
If you’re 21 & over and enjoy a nice cocktail or beer you’ll be amazed at the Bar located outside the bowling area. I’ve been to other theaters that offer food and beer during a movie however, Casa Blanca offers a full assortment of mixed & specialty drinks and several draft beers to choose from. Not a fan of draft beer or mixed drinks? They’ve got you covered. There’s also a great selection of domestic and imported bottled beers and wine by the glass or bottle!!
Craving something sweet? Casa Blanca has a FRESH gelato that is made in-house!! YUM!! Oh and they encourage sampling.
Running late? Didn’t have time to grab a bite at the Café or concession? No worries. They offer in theater dinning so you can relax and enjoy the movie. There are several theater options to choose from and they offer discounts for children ages 3-11, Seniors ages 60 & older and Military w/valid ID. Enjoy a 3D movie, IMAX movie on the 90 foot screen with the first movie theater to offer all laser projectors in the WORLD!! Feel comfortable in your recliner knowing that you do not have to adjust as someone walks by because there is plenty of leg room.
Santikos has plenty to offer for the entire familia. They’re offering FREE Summer Movies at Casa Blanca, Mayan Palace, Palladium, Silverado 16, Embassy 14, Northwest and Rialto. They also have Mommy Matinees every Wednesday at 11am where you can enjoy the latest romantic comedy or action adventure without having to worry about a baby sitter. Mommy Matinees are at Embassy and Silverado 16, sobring your baby and leave your worries at the door.
From the several things Santikos & Casa Blanca has to offer what more can they bring us? With every purchase Santikos is giving back to the community as part of Santikos Legacy. Santikos, as part of the estate of the late John L. Santikos, was gifted to the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation in 2015 (which is managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation), making it one of the largest single charitable donations in the history of San Antonio and in the United States. Santikos Entertainment now exists for the sole benefit of the communities in which it operates. The dollars spent on movie tickets and amenities put back into the local community in the form of donations, sponsorships, grants and programming that educate, cure, support and otherwise enhance lives of the citizens. Last year about $19 million was given back to community and they project $12 million will be given back in 2016!! Talk about movies with a purpose. Next time you’re thinking about making an impression on that special someone or educating your children. Think Santikos and share the story of Mr. Santikos and how he was born and raised in San Antonio, what his legacy is doing for the community and how you are helping make that happen.
